John Popper,
THE soulful, harmonica playing singer from
THE band Blues Traveler, was arrested
IN Washington after
THE car he was traveling
IN was clocked going a dangerously fast 111 mph. State troopers also found a small amount
OF marijuana as well as weapons, including four rifles, nine handguns, a switchblade, a taser
AND night vision goggles.
THE singer's black SUV, which was being driven by Brian Gourgeois at
THE time it was pulled over, was also equipped with flashing emergency lights, a siren
AND a public address system. Why would Popper need that on his SUV? According
TO a statement issued by
THE Washington State Patrol, "Popper indicated
TO troopers that he had installed these items
IN his vehicle because (in
THE event
OF a natural disaster) he didn't want
TO be left behind." Uh-huh.
The two men were booked at at
THE Adams County jail
AND later released.
THE pair face multiple charges, including possession
OF a controlled substance
AND possession
OF marijuana with Gourgeois facing charges
OF reckless driving. Popper could not
BE reached
FOR comment, but we are guessing he's one traveler that's feeling blue.
